Own it! These wise words have been brought to you by a Girl Scout alum who happens to be a gold medalist. 🥇✨
About us
We Are Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world. Through programs from coast to coast, Girl Scouts of all backgrounds and abilities can be unapologetically themselves as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges—whether they want to climb to the top of a tree or the top of their class, lace up their boots for a hike or advocate for climate justice, or make their first best friends. Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them. You could say we had a BALL with Major League Baseball (MLB) this week! 🥎⚾️ We can’t wait to see all the Girl Scout troops stepping up to the plate this weekend for PLAY BALL Weekend.
It was so much fun participating with our Girl Scouts in the kickoff event for Major League Baseball’s PLAY BALL Weekend in Times Square! We had the pleasure of meeting softball and baseball greats like former pro softball player A.J. Andrews, current softball pitcher for Stanford University and 2024 USA softball collegiate player of the year NiJaree Canady , Women’s College World Series champion Lauren (Chamberlain) Gipson, Team USA Olympic gold medalist Natasha Watley OLY, and shortstop for the New York Mets Francisco Lindor. Girl Scouting is all about giving girls opportunities to try new things, and our national partnership with MLB is doing just that. We’re excited to collaborate with MLB on our shared goals of promoting physical activity, fun with friends, and, specifically with PLAY BALL, learning how to play the sport at its most basic levels. Girl Scouts across the nation are participating in PLAY BALL events this weekend. Big thanks to Major League Baseball (MLB)! https://lnkd.in/gHBBykac

Let's talk about an important topic: loneliness among girls. Our recent survey found that nearly 70% of girls aged 5 to 13 experience loneliness. As they grow older, this feeling only intensifies. At Girl Scouts, we want to see girls shine and make lasting connections. That's why we've developed tailored programming to tackle these challenges head-on. As Volunteer Appreciation Month comes to a close, we want to thank our incredible Girl Scout volunteers, including our board president Noorain Khan, whose inspiring journey reminds us of the impact volunteers have on shaping futures. Thank you for your dedication! 💚 #VolunteerAppreciationMonth #YourYearOfImpact
Happy Volunteer Appreciation Month to Girl Scout volunteers across the country and the world! I am a profoundly grateful Girl Scout alum whose Girl Scout story is teeming with exciting outdoor adventures, deep friendships, and countless caring adults who encouraged me to take big leaps. And none of these life-changing experiences I had access to would have been possible without the incredible volunteers who brought my Girl Scout experience to life in truly amazing ways, including my troop leaders Fran Wolters, Cindy Magnifico, and Mary Soop. Girl Scouts has the very best volunteer force in the world. Our volunteers contribute their time, their living rooms and garages, their hearts, and so much more. And they do it for something bigger than themselves. Their dedication has a lasting positive impact on Girl Scouts lives. As a future Girl Scout mom (this fall!), I cannot wait to see how the volunteers in my daughter’s life will ensure that she understands the power and potential she has to thrive, to achieve her dreams, and to change the world! This Volunteer Appreciation Month, I want to thank all the Girl Scout volunteers who have had such an impact on the Girl Scouts in their lives. The Girl Scout mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place—and volunteers’ commitment to this mission means everything. #YourYearofImpact Not a volunteer but curious about becoming one?
