Fittings are a team effort. We recently held a fitting for a new brand coming soon. Five people participated in the fitting, each with a defined role and critical to product success. ✨ Brand owner - ensuring their product continues to meet the brief and align with the market/ business plan & opportunity. ✨ Designer - ensuring design intent and details remain should modifications need to be made for fit and cost. ✨ Product Developer - Monitoring details with respect to cost, sourcing and timeline. ✨ Technical Designer/Patternmaker (on video) - reviewing and discussing fit and construction. Collaborating with design on any changes being discussed. ✨ Fit model - Selected from research on target sizing, provides feedback on fit and functionality of the garment. We’re happy to introduce you to Sam our new Product Development Assistant at Guided Makers! Sam graduated from Maine College of Art and Design in 2023 with a Bachelors in Fine Art with a focus in Textile and Fashion Design. Their work focuses on empowerment of the self with a focus in corsetry and intimate apparel. Her experience lies mostly within pattern drafting, construction, and textile design so she is excited to branch out into the world of production. She looks forward to getting hands on experience in product development and to see what goes into starting a brand, and making ideas come to life. Aside from work Sam also enjoys baking,painting, and spending time with her two cats.
