The Council was proud to support our fellow advocacy partner, the National Veteran Small Business Coalition - NVSBC, at #VETS24 this past week. We always enjoy attending this event each year because it goes beyond just providing our service members with the tools and resources they need to build their businesses. It’s about creating a community and network of entrepreneurs who are willing to work together and lift each other up. The reality is that doing business with the federal government is hard, but no one said you had to do it alone. When you have others on your side to share the load, the impossible becomes possible. A huge shout-out to our fellow advocates at #NVSBC for a fantastic job this week! We look forward to seeing everyone again in July at the National HUBZone Conference #HUBZoneConf24. #VeteranBusiness #HUBZone #Entrepreneurship #Community #FederalContracting #SupportVeterans #TogetherWeThrive

The HUBZone Council would like to congratulate all the remarkable small businesses and acquisition professionals recognized at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Administrator’s 34th Annual Small Business Programs Award Ceremony earlier this week. The Council was honored to be a part of such an impactful event, and it was amazing to hear what our #smallbusinesses are doing to make our world a better place. We acknowledge that the EPA has faced challenges in meeting its small business goals in the past, but we commend their ongoing efforts to improve and their dedication to protecting human health and the environment. Delivering equity is at the heart of EPA's mission, and we applaud their commitment to making equity, environmental justice, and civil rights central to their work. https://lnkd.in/efta8VDa Keep up the fantastic work, #EPA! Thank you for always being a steadfast ally to the HUBZone community. Together, we can continue to make a positive impact on our planet and communities. #SmallBusiness #EnvironmentalProtection #Equity #HUBZoneCommunity

Earlier this week, the HUBZone Council had the pleasure of participating in the 2024 Small Business National Training Conference in Atlanta, GA. Hosted at the CDC facility, the event exceeded expectations. The highlight of the event was the Industry Awards, where the impressive capacity and capability of the recognized businesses stood out. However, what truly caught our attention was the dedication of the program managers, acquisition support professionals, and small business advocates who went above and beyond to clear the path for small businesses. Their hard work and commitment will positively impact many businesses and communities. The reality is that government contracting is challenging and demands hard work, dedication, and persistence. Creating unnecessary obstacles can limit our ability to innovate. But it was evident that Director Jackson and the dedicated civil servants at HHS are up to the challenge. A notable update we are proud of is the small business advocates at NIH and the members of the HUBZone Consortium for their hard work in making a difference. We were pleased to learn that in 2023, the NIH team met their HUBZone goal. This week's fantastic event, hosted by our partners at HHS, is proof that we are moving in the right direction. While there is still much work to be done, the tides are turning. At the HUBZone Council, we believe that if we want change, we all need to play a part. The small business office at NIH took a significant step a few years back and formed a cohort of HUBZone small businesses dedicated to supporting NIH. Despite being competitors, these businesses share a common mission, adopting the philosophy of "let the best HUBZone win." This approach is profound and necessary. If we can find a way to work together, there's enough room at the table for everyone, as long as we're willing to put in the work. For more about what HHS has been up to, check out the video below: https://lnkd.in/eRc7J36U. With that said, great job, HHS Small Biz, and keep up the great work! #makeanimpact
