July has been dedicated to the legacy of author, advocate, and trailblazer Bebe Moore Campbell by recognizing Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. Bebe Moore Campbell's ability to tell impactful stories highlighting themes of racism, mental health, and family left a lasting mark on this world and is a foundation for much of the work that continues in support of Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) mental health. July is dedicated to her legacy and the ongoing efforts for BIPOC mental health. #BebeMooreCampbell #MinorityMentalHealth #BIPOCMentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #ISBH https://lnkd.in/e55xEY3f

At ISBH, we have witnessed firsthand the profound negative impact that punitive measures have on individuals experiencing homelessness. Sweeping encampments and criminalizing homelessness only serve to exacerbate the crisis, causing further trauma and instability for those already in vulnerable situations. These actions do not address the root causes of homelessness nor do they provide sustainable solutions. Moreover, we must acknowledge that such punitive measures disproportionately affect marginalized communities, including Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. This policy perpetuates systemic inequalities and undermines efforts to create a more just and equitable society. https://lnkd.in/ebzHUZug #HousingIsHealthcare

On Friday night, July 19th, at the OSU Stadium, Sam Shafer, CEO of Integrated Services for Behavioral Health (ISBH), joined CareSource at The Foundation Experience Kick-Off Dinner. This event, hosted by OSU athletics, aims to raise awareness for community charities. During the evening, Sam engaged in meaningful conversations with former OSU football stars Cardale Jones and Maurice Clarett, who are actively working to break down the stigma surrounding poverty and access to behavioral healthcare. Additionally, current football players Tywone Malone, Kayden McDonald, and several others were present to show their support for the cause. #BreakTheStigma
