🌟 Team Member Spotlight: Meet Katherine Mccormick! 🌟 Q: How do you collaborate with other team members or departments? Katie: "There isn't a single event for which I don't ask for help from another department. Accounting, Engineering, Beach Services, F&B, and the Front Desk are always so helpful with whatever task needs to be done to execute an amazing event. This job is different every day. If I'm not calling Engineering down to the tikis to help put down the sidings because of the rain, then I'm calling Channing at Beach Services to help me move some furniture or asking the Front Desk to help me get keys for a last-minute site tour, and so on. My job could not be done without the help of every person in every department." Q: What do you enjoy most about working here? Katie: "The views! I couldn't be more grateful for the amazing things I see daily at work. My office sits above the Marina at Three Waters, and I get to see tarpons, sharks, manatees, and the occasional dolphin pod from the comfort of my desk! Walking around all three properties, I make sure I am appreciating the gorgeous beaches and oceanfront views. We get a lot of couples and groups who have never been to the Keys before and some who have never even seen the ocean, which reminds me how insanely lucky I am to work here." Q: What is your professional background, and how did it lead you to your current role? Katie: "I have been a waitress my entire life. My parents owned restaurants, and I started at the very bottom, washing dishes and working my way up to bartending. That career taught me how to interact with people and how to anticipate their needs. I can learn new systems and procedures, but learning how to read people takes time. I have so much more to learn in this life, but waiting tables has given me all the skills I need to be successful at anything." Q: What does IRC mean to you? Katie: "What IRC means to me: the chance to evolve in a better direction every day. This property has been around longer than I've been alive. It has evolved and shed its skin many times. IRC is another layer to that skin. In the almost year that I've been here, I've watched every department grow more and more, getting better every day."
