  • #FeedbackFriday - This week's feedback highlights the work of City Marshal Jones and Lieutenant Rietfors who responded to assist with a crash when patrol units were on other calls. At LWPD, we believe EVERY officer is a patrol officer regardless of rank or assignment. We also believe in feedback, and we appreciate those who take the time to share their thoughts with us - good and bad. We take every word seriously, and value the opportunity to continuously improve. Happy Friday!

  • #FeedbackFriday - Recently, Officer Havins received this feedback from a member of the community after responding to a hit and run call. We voluntarily survey community members after calls to assess the quality of our service delivery. It's our belief that we cannot improve unless we understand what's working and what's not. Since we began the surveys, we've achieved a response rate of ~33% and an average citizens positive satisfaction score (CPSS) of more than 97%! We thank you for your continued support and feedback! Happy Friday!

  • On May 14th at 8pm, Officer Erb was dispatched to City Park East for a medical emergency. When he arrived, he found a 12 year old athlete having a seizure. He comforted the young athlete and those around him as he waited for medical personnel to arrive. Then suddenly the boy lost consciousness and stopped breathing. Without hesitation, Officer Erb began CPR. Members of the Lake Worth Fire Department arrived minutes later and firefighters assumed care. Rather than stepping away to gather himself, Officer Erb immediately began consoling the boy’s mother. Not wanting her to be away from her son, Officer Erb drove the boy’s mother to the hospital right behind the ambulance to ensure she arrived safely. On the way to the hospital, the boy was defibrillated twice by paramedics. He was transported to Cook Children’s hospital where he received expert treatment from doctors, nurses and staff. He was released nearly a week later and is expected to make a full recovery. For his actions, Officer Erb was awarded the Lake Worth Police Department’s Life-Saving Award at the City of Lake Worth’s May council meeting. He was also presented a Chief’s Coin of Excellence for his selflessness in consoling, supporting, and transporting the boy’s mother to the hospital.

  • The Northwest Emergency Communications Center (NWECC)’s performance report for May is out. To view past reports and to stay up to date with the latest emergency communications information for our area, be sure to follow the Northwest Emergency Communications center on Facebook, Instagram, and X. ➡️ Facebook: @NWECC ➡️ Instagram: @northwestecc ➡️ X: @NWEmergencyCC

Each month, our center provides performance data to each of our partner agencies and the public. This is important to us for two reasons: 1) it ensures equity among partners by using data as proof of the fair delivery of service, and 2) It provides a mechanism of transparency and accountability. Simply saying we deliver great service is not enough - we want to prove it month after month! When moments matter, we'll be here when you call. #WhenMomentsMatter
