Project Highlight: Proton Therapy Center, The University of Kansas Cancer Center After more than 15 years of building proton therapy centers around our home turf, Linbeck packed a bag and headed for Kansas. Our mission? Bring a much-needed cancer treatment facility to patients in the Midwest. In 2022, the Proton Therapy Center at The University of Kansas Cancer Center debuted to an excited crowd, as no facility of this nature had existed in this part of the country before. Today, KU's 50,000 SF Proton Therapy Center boasts a single IBA Proteus One vault and has achieved comprehensive cancer center status, a prestigious honor that only 56 other cancer care centers hold nationwide. We are feeling all the feels! Being a part of the Anne Burnett Marion School of Medicine at Texas Christian University team has been a journey like no other. A very special thanks to our friends at Texas Christian University for entrusting us with this defining project. And shoutout to the talented "On Site" film crew for creating content that rivals the best in Hollywood. Prescotte Stokes III: it's going to be a two thumbs up and 100% on Rotten Tomatoes from us! An architect known for pushing the boundaries, Philip Johnson was a force in Houston’s art and architecture scene. The same man who brought the city Rothko Chapel, Pennzoil Place, the Waterwall, and other notable structures also designed the Chapel of St. Basil, a can’t-miss-it church tucked on the edge of the University of St. Thomas (TX). The certified home parish for students of UST, the chapel spans 8,700 SF and catches the eye at every turn. Black, white, and gold are all that make up its exterior hues; sharp edges, sweeping curves, and artful carvings its only adornments. Linbeck delivered the Chapel of St. Basil alongside the design team at Merriman Holt Architects (Merriman Holt Powell Architects) in 1997. Today after nearly 30 years, the building remains a cherished Tex-ample of Houston's intrigue for the revolutionary. #Linbeck #UST #Faith #HigherEducation #Church #Chapel #Design #Construction #Architecture #Houston #Texas

America is: freedom, courage, selflessness. These honorable characteristics will be on full display at the National Medal of Honor Museum. Recently, the museum saw the installation of its largest exhibit: a fully restored Bell UH-1H Iroquois "Huey" helicopter. An incredible addition to the museum's artifacts collection, this life-saving aircraft--described as “the greatest battlefield life saver in the history of mankind”--will tell the story of six individuals whose brave actions involving a Huey earned them a Medal of Honor. At Linbeck, we are inspired by this representation of valor and are driven to put our values in action every day. Moments like these make celebrating today all the more impactful. Happy 4th of July! #Linbeck #MedalofHonor #4thofJuly #IndependenceDay #America #Construction #Texas
