Aegis is an inquisitive 6-year-old boy who loves space, spaceships, and of course astronauts so Make-A-Wish San Diego teamed up with some incredible partners (Virgin Galactic , To The Stars Academy of Arts & Science, To The Stars, Inc., Tom DeLonge, and Gnarlywood) to make Aegis’ wish come true. About us
Together, we create life-changing experiences for children with critical illnesses in San Diego and Imperial Counties. Since its inception in 1983, the San Diego chapter has granted more than 5,200 wishes to children in our community. In the coming year, the organization anticipates granting over 250 wishes for children in our community and hosting over 250 wish kids from other states to grant their wish in San Diego. At Make-A-Wish, the goal is simple: to come into a child’s life during a difficult time and provide hope and a much-needed break from the daily challenges they are forced to face. It is our vision that every eligible child will experience a wish come true. If you know a family with a child between the ages of 2 ½-17 battling a life-threatening medical condition, please ask them to visit wish.org/refer or contact our office at 858-707-9474. A child can be referred by a parent/guardian, medical professional treating the child or the child themselves. Make-A-Wish San Diego is a 501(c)(3) non-profit incorporated in the state of California.

At the age of three, Iuliana's wish was to go to Disney World to meet her favorite Disney princesses. She is a vibrant and active kid who loves crafts, singing, dancing and spending time with her family. Today, we are thrilled to share that Iuliana, at six years old, has just graduated from kindergarten! Despite her leukemia diagnosis, her enthusiasm and zest for life continue to inspire everyone around her. When asked how things are going with Iuliana, her father Rene stated, "Things are going great. Iuli is not just surviving but thriving". Congratulations, Iuliana, on this wonderful milestone!

There’s still time to be a Wish Hero at Make-A-Wish® San Diego! If you’re looking to make a difference in San Diego, we would love for you to become a Wish Granter. This is a special volunteer opportunity where you would work with a local child and help them determine their one true wish! Thanks to our community partners like the San Diego Padres, we’re able to grant wishes for kids like Eric who wished to be a San Diego Padre for a day. And special thanks to Fernando Tatis Jr., whose support and involvement have been invaluable in spreading the message of hope and joy in our community.
