Happy National Intern Day to all of our incredible summer interns! Thank you for sharing your talent and time on the Make-A-Wish Illinois team.
About us
For Illinois children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 18 who are battling critical illnesses, Make-A-Wish Illinois works together with the community to create life changing wishes. Children can be referred by a medical professional currently treating the child, the child's parents/guardians or the child him- or herself. There is no cost to the family. Through the support of generous donors and volunteers, Make-A-Wish Illinois is able to provide hope, strength and transformation to hundreds of children each year. See stories of hope on the Make-A-Wish Illinois social media channels @wishillinois.

Wish granting partners, Carolyn and Amy, were awarded this year's Wish Volunteer Impact Award because of their unwavering commitment to bring joy to other children and families going through their own tough journey. Carolyn was first introduced to Make-A-Wish through her son's wish, and now enjoys being able to wish it forward, creating a lasting impact for other wish families. “We can use our creativity to create a more personalized experience,” Carolyn said. “It brings me great joy to see a child’s face light up and make them feel special. I know my son would be so proud that we are able to help make children happy.”

Happy National Armed Forces Day to the many selfless members of the armed forces, like US Navy Lieutenant Kellie Sbrocchi, who help make wishes come true for children with critical illnesses. Kellie uses her social media platform to spread awareness of our mission and encourages others to become WishMakers. She even went Over The Edge, rappelling down 36 stories, to raise money to grant wishes. Thank you for all you do!
