Alayna from Swanton, Maryland, is a ray of sunshine, and true to her nature, she spends most of her time outside soaking up the warm rays. Though she battles a rare respiratory disorder, the six-year-old remains dedicated to her artwork and studies, recently receiving the “Student of the Month Award.” Alayna's favorite place is the beach where she can enjoy the ocean with its beauty and sense of peace and calm.
When Alayna learned that she would be granted a wish from Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, she knew right away what she wanted most: to go on a beach vacation in Florida with her family!
Accompanied by her parents and older brother, Alayna jetted off to the Sunshine State, ready to have the time of her life. There, she enjoyed several perfect sunny days on the beautiful beaches, building sandcastles, collecting colorful seashells, and splashing in the crystal-clear water.
Of course, you cannot visit Orlando without a trip to Universal Studios! Alayna thoroughly enjoyed visiting the park and its many attractions, meeting her favorite characters, eating delicious food, and trying out thrill rides.
The wish trip was not just a vacation; it was a celebration of Alayna’s strength and uplifting positivity amidst a challenging medical journey. More importantly, it gave Alayna and her parents a chance to set aside their constant worry of her medical condition and bask in the warmth of the Florida sun.
