About us
META BUILD "Powering the METAmorphosis of BUILDings towards a decarbonised and sustainable energy system" is an HORIZON Europe project funded under the GA No. 101138373. The project aims to identify, test, and scale up solutions for the electrification, decarbonisation, and digitalisation of commercial and residential buildings. The solutions include heat pumps (HPs), Photovoltaic Thermal collectors (PVTs), thermal and second-life battery storage systems. AI, Digital Twin technologies are considered to monitor buildings's performances in real-time. Recently, I had the privilege of presenting our paper titled "Home Energy Management Systems: Challenges, Heterogeneity & Integration Architecture Towards A Smart City Ecosystem" at #MDTWeek and #ICE2024 on the picturesque island of #Madeira. This paper, co-authored by Alexios Lekidis, Elissaios Sarmas, Ioannis Papias, Filippas Serepas, George Stravodimos & Vangelis Marinakis. It emphasizes feasibility, scalability, and explores forward-looking services such as predictive maintenance and energy forecasting through meticulous data collection and analysis. Our work was supported by two projects I am involved in: BuildON & META BUILD Horizon Europe Project. Additionally, I had the pleasure of presenting the BuildON project during a workshop focused on #Smart, #Efficient, and #Sustainable #Energy Use. This session was a hub of innovative ideas, where various compelling projects were showcased. Special thanks to Panagiotis Kokkinakos who chaired the workshop and great appreciation for inviting me to it.

Implementing energy efficiency in Gdynia municipality META BUILD Horizon Europe Project was presented during the annual meeting of municipal energy specialists on the 6th of June, 2024 in Gdynia, Poland. Clean energy, modernization of buildings, energy efficiency, EU directives, The EPBD directive as part of the Green Deal, European Funds for metropolises - these are just some of the topics that were discussed during the event.
