It's hard to believe that we're only 1 week away from the MIT AI & Education Summit! We've added even more speakers to our schedule, including Tom Berry from Amazon Web Services (AWS) 💻
Tom Berry is the Senior Manager for Technology Education at AWS Social Responsibility & Impact. He leads the AWS Education Equity Initiative, a global cloud initiative that democratizes access to cloud technology and AI for organizations and researchers seeking to build and scale learning solutions for underserved learners.
After serving as a U.S. Army officer, Tom pursued research interests in youth economic empowerment at Yale University, recognizing the link between lack of access to education and security issues he witnessed during deployments. He then joined Amazon in a business role leading teams of product managers and data scientists. He shifted into social impact to leading the Amazon Future Engineer program from a 300 US school pilot to a global initiative impacting 3.9 million youth annually.
Presently at AWS, Tom continues his emphasis on education equity by empowering builders and researchers closest to learners, to leverage cloud and AI to accelerate their progress. He holds an M.A. in Global Affairs from Yale University and a B.S. in Political Philosophy and Environmental Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
