Health insurance premiums and payroll expenses both increased by more than 30 percent since 2018, according to research from the JPMorganChase Institute. The burden of these rising health care costs disproportionately impacts smaller businesses and their ability to compete for and retain top talent.

U.S. states vary widely in access to care, quality of care, and health outcomes for women, according to a new scorecard from The Commonwealth Fund. “The biggest theme is that place matters,” said Orriel Richardson, who leads our health equity work. “I applaud the Commonwealth Fund team for producing this scorecard and presenting it in a way that shows the striking differences in U.S. women’s and reproductive health based on geography.”
