A third-party software outage is impacting computer systems worldwide, including at Mount Sinai Health System. Patient safety remains our top priority. All appointments today remain as planned unless you hear from us. We will notify you if your non-urgent appointment or procedure needs to be rescheduled due to the global technology outage. We are thankful to our staff who are working to ensure care continues with minimal interruption.

This Wednesday, we invited our community and teams across Mount Sinai Queens to "come be a superhero" and learn about CPR and participate in a training exercise. This CPR class was designed to teach the “core skills” of CPR: pushing on the chest (compressions) and breathing for the victim (ventilations), recognizing the emergency, checking the victim for signs of circulation, and calling 911. Thank you to all who participated! #CPR #CPRAwareness #WeFindAWay

Last Thursday, Mount Sinai Queens celebrated its 25th Anniversary, where we recognized the extraordinary achievements of our hospital and entire team since joining the Mount Sinai Health System in 1999. We honored this incredible milestone with an awards ceremony and were joined by Mount Sinai Queens and The Mount Sinai Hospital leadership, staff, and clinicians, as well as the community leaders, FDNY, and former Mount Sinai Queens Executive Director, Caryn Schwab. Plus, staff had the opportunity to enjoy ice cream! Mount Sinai Queens has been a pillar of hope for our community during the most challenging times, a steadfast resource for everyday care, and an institution committed to innovation amid an ever-changing healthcare landscape. We continue to follow our promise of being an institution that fosters a positive environment, supporting the well-being of every staff member and patient who walks through our doors. Congratulations to all of our honorees and congratulations to everyone on this momentous occasion! #25thAnniversary #Celebration #MountSinaiQueens #WeFindAWay

We are excited to announce that Cameron R. Hernandez, MD, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer at Mount Sinia Queens, was included in this year’s 50 Ideas for a Stronger and More Equitable Queens by the Center for an Urban Future and the Elmezzi Foundation, which features his idea for supporting migrants seeking asylum in New York City as well as the borough’s future, along with ideas from 49 other leaders from across Queens. Queens is New York’s borough of opportunity. Even so, it is hard not to note the challenges that many Queens residents face. Despite the borough’s diverse economy and bustling commercial districts, there is still work to be done to capitalize on the borough’s many opportunities and ensure that a lot more Queens residents can get ahead.
