We’re delighted to see Jade Saunders and World Forest ID - a founding member of the Nature Crime Alliance - recognised with a Mulago Fellowship. Congratulations Jade!
Congratulations to our Executive Director, Jade Saunders, on receiving the prestigious 2024 Henry Arnhold Mulago Fellowship! This award recognizes her as a visionary leader with the power to make a profound impact on protecting global forests. Jade walks in the footsteps of other remarkable leaders such as Crystal Davis at Global Forest Watch, who developed a groundbreaking tool for real-time forest monitoring, and alongside those such as Solange Bandiaky-Badji at Rights and Resources Initiative, who works to secure land rights for Indigenous and Afro-descendant peoples. With the amazing support of the Mulago Foundation team—Bernie Tershy, Laura Hattendorf, Kevin Starr, Alex Hughes-Smith, Nick Kaw, and Avery Bang—we are poised to significantly scale World Forest ID’s impact, making even greater strides in providing accessible public-good data to enhance traceability in forest-connected supply chains. Special thanks to Catalina Romero Nocua and Melissa Flagg, our wonderful board members at World Forest ID, for sharing their personal insights of working with Jade. And huge congratulations to fellow winners from ReGeCom, EcoNusa Foundation, Kenya Wildlife Conservancies Association, BIOSORRA, Centre for Environmental Law and Community Rights (CELCOR), Mati Carbon, and Rights and Resources Initiative.
