Celebrating 60 years of feel-good stories. 34-year-old Megan Beam is the Career Technical Training Manager at #DenisonJobCorps. She is also an alumnus from 2006 and 2007. “I came to 🏫Job Corps because I was being bullied at high school,” said Megan, “and, had It not been for Job Corps, I would not have a 🎓high school diploma to further my education later in life.” After Job Corps, Megan went onto receive a college degree in Human Resources. She wanted to work for #DenisonJobCorps because she feels very strongly about helping the students there. “I couldn’t be more thankful to be back here,” said Megan. “I’ve been through a lot of what they’ve been through. I really want to see them succeed…. Happy 60th Anniversary, Job Corps!” #DenisonJobCorps #JobCorpsLegacy #60YearsofJobCorps #JobCorps60th #60YearsofCreatingCareers #SuccessStory #JobCorpsWorks #CareersBeginHere

Francisco Sosa, a #PaulSimonChicagoJobCorps alum, now helps guide new students on their career paths, continuing the Job Corps legacy of mentorship. Francisco Sosa has worked for the #PaulSimonChicagoJobCorps since the year it opened 24 years ago. Prior to that, he was a two-time alumnus, getting his initial office administration trade certification just six months after starting at the Joliet Job Corps in 1997. From there, he went onto the Hubert Humphrey Job Corps for advanced training in IT. Today, Francisco is a student recruitment representative and believes his🌟passion for the program is helping youth find their way. “A lot of wonderful people have mentored me through the years,” said Sosa. “Now, I get to mentor new staff [and future students]. Look how far I have come. It’s a blessing to give back to these wonderful young youth. Happy 60th Birthday, Job Corps.” #PaulSimonJob Corps #JobCorpsLegacy #60YearsofJobCorps #JobCorps60th #60YearsofCreatingCareers #SuccessStory #JobCorpsWorks #CareersBeginHere

Eraune Santos turned his carpentry skills learned at #TurnerJobCorps into a successful business. He went to Job Corps in 1998, and within 7 months, he completed the 🛠carpentry trade. As part of his schooling, he was then able to work with a contractor on campus for a year, helping to 👷🏾♂️remodel the Turner campus. After that, the contractor hired him full-time. Eraune credits all that he learned at Job Corps for making him the proud owner of a repossession and towing company for over 21 years. “Job Corps has impacted my life so much that there’s not enough time for me to explain it,” said Eraune. “What I will say, without Turner Job Corps, there’s only two places I think I would have probably ended up…and that would be, sad to say, either I’d be in jail or in the grave.” Job Corps builds entrepreneurs! Hear more from Eraune as he looks back at his life. #TurnerJobCorps #JobCorpsLegacy #60YearsofJobCorps #JobCorps60th #60YearsofCreatingCareers #JobCorpsWorks #CareersBeginHere

Community partners are the best, and our thanks to The Good Samaritan Center Thrift Store for being a shining example. When we took our #DenisonJobCorps Student Government Association (SGA) representatives to the store, manager DeAnn Reetz graciously donated $225 worth of certificates for our SGA leaders to buy clothes to stock up the campuses 👚clothing closet. According to SGA President Faisal Muya (far left in the group photo), “Unfortunately I see many new students who came either from homelessness or less fortunate backgrounds come to our campus with only the clothes they are wearing. I knew I had to ask for assistance because I want everyone to feel comfortable and included when they join our Denison family.” This closet is open for the students in need to get free clothes! Denison’s SGA is always looking out for their fellow peers, and we are so grateful to our local community for supporting our campus! 🎉We are also happy with a new volunteering opportunity that DeAnn presented our campus where our students can volunteer at the store and earn vouchers for clothes as well. 🌟Again, a huge thank you to DeAnn and everyone with The Good Samaritan Center! And of course, to our SGA council for going above and beyond for their peers! #DenisonJobCorps #GoodSamaritanCenterThriftStore #StudentGovernmentAssociation #CommunityPartner #StudentSuccess #SuccessStory #JobCorpsWorks #CampusLife

When you live in the Southwest, you have to get creative. Our welding students have put their artistic touches all around our campus including these lovely metal flowers and of course a gorgeous metal cactus. Their work not only showcases their technical skills but also has a connection to the Southwest’s natural beauty and we are proud to showcase their creativity. 🌵🎨🌸🌼 #AlbuquerqueJobCorps #WeldingArt #SouthwestCreativity #JobCorpsWorks
