Palmstreet is the #1 live shopping app for plants, crafts, and crystals! We have enjoyed the journey of starting as a social community, plant marketplace, and for the past year, embracing the power of live shopping over multiple influential categories. Live shopping is typically associated with fashion or beauty. But more people are heading to livestream platforms to buy and sell plants. Why is this taking root? 🌵 -- Sellers say it's an easy way to get through inventory -- Smaller nurseries find it helps them reach a wider audience -- Plants grow quickly, and thumbnails online don't always paint an accurate picture of a plant's size, shape or coloring Already, this channel is proving lucrative. Steve’s Leaves, a tropical plant nursery in Texas, makes $2,000 to $4,000 from its hour-long lives. Palmstreet, which has 500 live-streaming plant sellers, has essentially doubled its revenue since venturing into live shopping in early 2023. And Whatnot has seen sales of plants spike 8x since establishing a garden category last year. Thanks so much for all the sources who spoke to me for this Modern Retail story: Angalena Malavenda, Armand Wilson, Anastasia Karlova & Breann Hall!
