Exciting news! This morning, #PlatteRiver’s board approved the 2024 Integrated Resource Plan, which includes 760 megawatts of new renewable energy projects by 2030. This plan aims to maintain reliability, environmental responsibility, and financial sustainability throughout the energy transition. 🌟For #NationalInternDay, we celebrate our outstanding current interns at Platte River! 🎉 Tayler is entering his senior year this fall at CSU and expects to graduate next spring (May 2025) with a BS in Business Administration with concentrations in Computer Information Systems and Corporate Finance. Macy is a CSU grad (May 2024) and received her BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources and a minor in Merchandising. George is a Colorado School of Mines grad (May 2024) and received his BS in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Energy Systems & Power Electronics. He is continuing his studies at the School of Mines and expects to receive his MS in Electrical Engineering in May 2025. Brandyn is entering his senior year this fall at CSU and expects to graduate next spring (May 2025) with a BS in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Aerospace Engineering. Platte River Power Authority offers various operational, technical and professional experiences. Interns gain hands-on experience in their curriculum, directly collaborate with co-workers and have the opportunity to interact with real-life projects and challenges. #NationalInternDay2024 #InternDay #InternDay2024 #STEMIntern

A great day for Colorado! Platte River Power Authority officially broke ground on the 257 MW solar project in Severance, CO. That's a lot more carbon-free electricity for our beautiful state!

We had an amazing groundbreaking ceremony today at Black Hollow Solar, northern Colorado's largest solar site! 🌞 In addition to the original 150 MW project (estimated to be online in 2025), we are thrilled to announce an additional 107 MW of solar that will begin commercial operation in 2026. When complete, these projects will deliver around 630,000 megawatt-hours annually to power northern Colorado communities. 🏡⚡ Black Hollow Solar is a major step toward our 2018 Resource Diversification Policy goal and to a more sustainable future.
