Last week, Portrait Displays Taiwan, in collaboration with O KNOW IMAGE, ASUS, Sony Taiwan, and AJA Video Systems, hosted an HDR Seminar titled “Collaboration between the DIT and Film Crew to Achieve International Color Standards: HDR and Virtual Production.” Nearly 100 DITs, colorists, lighting engineers, and other industry professionals attended the seminar, and over 100 people tuned in to the live broadcast. The pursuit of image quality is relentless, and professionals need budget-friendly tools they can rely on to enhance color accuracy. The Portrait Displays Taiwan team demonstrated using Calman software for precise and consistent color. Eddy, the owner of O KNOW IMAGE and a DIT, presented his DIT workflow, sharing the color management software, hardware, and technology he uses. Special thanks to Cyans LED Virtual Studio for providing an excellent venue and allowing guests to experience cutting-edge virtual production technology on-site.

Bientôt le calibrage TV en magasin ou à domicile pour tout le monde ? A l'occasion de l'événement TCL "Experts meet Experts" qui s'est tenu à Varsovie il y a quelques semaines, j'ai rencontré Marcel Gonska de Portrait Displays avec qui j'ai pu avoir des échanges très intéressants. D'abord parce qu'il semble que les télés TCL qui intègrent des puces MediaTek #Pentonic progressent dans les comptabilités avec les fonctions de calibrage. C'était déjà plus ou moins le cas, mais pas toujours très au point. En marge de cela de cela et de tous les supers échanges que j'ai également eu avec Marek Maciejewski et Marcin Gerlach, Marcel m'a également parlé de "Calman CaaS", pour Calman Calibration As A Service. En quelques mots, de la même manière que les différentes enseignes proposent aujourd'hui des extensions de garanties, demain, elles pourraient proposer aux clients de repartir avec leur téléviseur ... calibré ! Je vous explique tout sur ce kit qui pourrait bien intéresser les géants comme Boulanger, Darty, Fnac et compagnie (en tout cas à leur place je me poserais la question... vraiment !) mais aussi les particuliers technophiles/cinéphiles qui seraient près à se laisser tenter. 📣Last week, our VP of Sales and Marketing Marcel Gonska took the stage at the TCL Press Event “Experts Meet Experts” in Warsaw, Poland. The event brought together the leading European special interest press for an exclusive preview of TCL’s upcoming 2024 TV Line-Up. ✨Highlights included the 115" Mini-LED TV, featuring dimming technology and algorithms via Mini-LED backlight with a Quantum Dot LCD panel. The lineup boasts screen sizes from 55" to 115" (upcoming 2024 Calman Ready models: C745, C805, C855, X955). 🌎Calman was literally “everywhere”! Over 3 days, 50 journalists had the chance to test the new TV lineup extensively. They used Calman with top-end colorimeters, spectroradiometers, and test pattern generators to explore the features and functionality of these Calman Ready TVs. 📺 Marek Maciejewski presented the impressive lineup and its core technologies, focusing on panel technology, picture quality, and video processing. Marcel presented on Calibration as a Service (CaaS) and the significance of TCL’s collaboration with Portrait Displays. He delved into TCL’s integral role in the Calman Universe and the advanced 1D/3D LUT calibration via MediaTek Pentonic SoC.
