It is common knowledge that Pamela and I wholeheartedly support Project Youth-OC and its mission to guide at-risk youth in maintaining their education, well-being, and staying away from drugs through education, counseling, mentoring, and family strengthening. In June, approximately 25 graduates of Project Youth-OC's Higher Education Mentoring Program were recognized with Certificates of Completion and received scholarships from the non-profit and its supporters. Brandy Figueroa, who will be attending Harvard in the fall of 2024, was awarded the Pamela and Eric Traut Scholarship. We congratulate Brandy! On Tuesday our admissions team welcomed 40 high schoolers on a field trip for Project SELF to Kennedy Hall for an introduction to law school life and what it takes to become a lawyer. Project SELF places qualified high school juniors in law firms and law-related businesses in Orange County, providing youth with positive alternatives for spending their summers, access to a professional career environment, and positive mentors to help them with goal setting and preparation for their future. Our Project SELF summer interns had an amazing time at Chapman University Fowler School of Law this past Tuesday! Thrilled to share this wonderful news from Traut Firm about our Project SELF program!   Every summer through Project Youth OC's Project SELF (Summer Employment in Law Firms), The Traut Firm hires a summer intern. This program offers qualifying high school seniors from Santa Ana paid, eight-week internships at local law firms and related businesses.   We are delighted to congratulate Graciela Castrejon, a former Traut Firm/Project SELF intern, on her recent graduation from Berkeley Law, one of the nation's premier law schools.   Programs like Project SELF are designed to provide invaluable experience and opportunities for our youth, and success stories like Graciela's highlight the impact of these efforts. This past Friday's Brewfest at The MET in support of Project Youth OC was amazing!
