Yesterday, we repped Symbl.ai and our AI models and products at the Khasm Labs 5G Open Innovation Lab's Summer Social 2024 at Accenture Labs in Kirkland WA. The number one takeaway? Much. Smaller. Models. A lot of the discussion and excitement was understandably around the promise that larger language (and vision and other modalities) models bring to use cases on the Edge. Most of these scenarios are hardware constrained and cost sensitive by default. This is one of the reasons that we at Symbl.ai have been looking at models that make sense for every conversational use case - just the right amount of generative power while driving down compute requirements and latency numbers for better scaling and cost. Big week for us at the 5G Open Innovation Lab. We are exploring Gen AI services at a Telco Edge, private 5G enterprise networks, and launching our skunkworks Lab (#KhasmX).
