Readyset is at MySQL New York Meetup this week! 🍎 Our Vice President of Product, Tanmay Sinha, is giving a talk on 6/20 @ 5 pm about a new era for MySQL caching. Check it out and come say hello!
📢 SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨 --- 📅 Date: June 20th, 2024 | ⏰ Time: 5pm - 8pm |📍Location: Oracle - 368 9th Ave · New York, NY Tanmay Sinha will be our second guest speaker on our Meetup with the following talk: Readyset: A New Era for MySQL Caching Caching is the process of storing data, often in memory for later usage, so they can be accessed quickly, contributing significantly to overall application performance. However, the implementation of caching introduces challenges such as cache invalidation and maintenance, particularly in cloud environments. In this session, you will learn how you can address both of these challenges by incorporating Readyset as a simple read replica cache to enhance your application's performance by an order of magnitude with zero application code changes and not worry about cache invalidation & maintenance. Make sure to RSVP at the event website: https://lnkd.in/ekKg-5nE? See ya! #mysql #meetup #databases #sql

Dive into the binary log transaction compression feature, introduced in Readyset's most recent release. This feature reduces storage and network bandwidth by dynamically applying ZSTD compression to transactions. As part of this work, Readyset engineers contributed by adding support to it into the MySQL Rust driver, which now can be used by the broad rust community. Senior Software Engineer @ ReadySet | C / C++ / Rust | Database Internals | Database Cache | MySQL | PostgreSQL
Two weeks ago Readyset released version stable-240425. Check out the release highlights: * Significantly improved warm read performance for certain queries that return timestamps. * Add the capability to connect to a specific MySQL database as part of the connection. * Adjusted the MySQL initial handshake salt generation function to restrict the range of random characters. This fixes a JDBC driver issue that randomly fails to connect to Readyset. And also, starting from this Release, we now also produce .rpms.
