    Spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent stimulus checks, an unprecedented number of workers quit their jobs during 2021 and 2022. Though the labor market stabilized over the past two years, some speculate we may be entering a period of a second “great resignation.” In July, ResumeBuilder.com surveyed 1,000 full-time workers to find out how many are planning to quit their jobs in 2024.     Being laid off can have detrimental effects on workers who may receive limited severance payments and struggle to pay for basic necessities. In June, ResumeBuilder.com surveyed 1,250 U.S. workers to understand how a layoff would impact them and what compromises they would make in the workplace to survive a potential cut. Key findings: 💼 32% of workers would take a demotion, and 31% would accept a pay cut to prevent being laid off 💼 1 in 5 workers could only sustain their current lifestyle for a week or less if laid off 💼 Biggest concerns about being laid off include affording housing and losing benefits 💼 1 in 8 workers have made sacrifices at their current workplace to remain employed Full article: https://lnkd.in/ekzRFVsv

    In the age of return-to-office (RTO) mandates, business leaders seem to be increasingly prioritizing in-person work, citing easier collaboration, management, and project efficiency. To better understand managers’ perceptions of in-person versus remote workers, in June, ResumeBuider.com surveyed 626 managers who supervise both in-person and remote employees.     Employers posting fake or “ghost” job listings online is a disturbing trend and growing problem in the job market. This highly unethical tactic can impact job seekers’ perceptions and organizational trust. Resume Builder surveyed 649 hiring managers to assess the prevalence of fake job listings.     As Gen Zers continues to rise in the ranks of the workforce, more of these young employees are gaining management positions at their companies. To understand how Gen Z managers contribute to their companies, ResumeBuilder.com surveyed 873 business leaders in May.     The latest workplace trend, “quiet vacationing,” which is reminiscent of “hush trips,” is the practice of taking vacation time without informing your employer. In May, ResumeBuilder.com surveyed 1,050 corporate workers who have paid time off (PTO) benefits to find out how many have recently done or plan to engage in quiet vacationing.     Many job seekers say it’s difficult to get a job right now, despite what’s considered to be a strong labor market. In May, Resume Builder surveyed 738 workers hired within the past six months to find out how challenging it was for them to find jobs. We found that many found jobs quickly and were even juggling multiple offers.     Recently Samsung decided to implement a mandatory six-day workweek for all its executives, aiming to instill a heightened sense of urgency among employees and improve its financial performance. In April, ResumeBuilder.com surveyed 753 business leaders to find out how they feel about six-day workweeks and whether or not it’s something their company plans to implement in the near future.
