SCTE Rocky Mountain Chapter conducted the first virtual Symposium (entitled “Symposium in a Box”) in 2020 amid a global pandemic. The Rocky Mountain Chapter, led by President Larry Wolcott, needed to find ways to connect with our membership during this unprecedented time of uncertainty. Larry and his team created a unique event, with online webinars, engaging talks, interactive discussions to keep our membership connected to the chapter. The Rocky Mountain Chapter has been around since the mid-1980s. It was founded as the Rocky Mountain Meeting Group in the 1984 timeframe (I don't remember the exact date) by Ron Hranac, Bruce Catter, Sally Kinsman, and Pete Smith. It took the Rocky Mountain Meeting Group a year or two to earn Chapter status. At the time, SCTE required meeting groups to set up a board of directors, elect officers, create bylaws, establish a bank account, hold a certain number of meetings and training seminars, etc., in order to be elevated from meeting group to chapter. RMC has been going strong ever since. #CableTecGames2024
