About us
Silvercrest Asset Management Group is an independent registered investment advisor which provides asset management and family office services to families and select institutional investors. Silvercrest combines the client-focused service which was the hallmark of private banks and investment counsel firms in an earlier age with state of the art theories of portfolio construction, risk management and diversification. Silvercrest's professionals have dedicated their careers to wealth management and our Managing Directors, who average more than 25 years of wealth management experience, have advised their clients through the boom of bull markets and the gloom of bear markets. We are not swayed by market manias. We are only interested in seeing our clients' assets invested in a manner consistent with their tolerance for risk. Silvercrest is free from the numerous conflicts of interest inherent to larger organizations. Our size, our employee ownership and our collegial culture-coupled with the spirit, camaraderie and character of our organization-stand in sharp contrast to much of Wall Street and the financial services industry. We enjoy working with one another and we enjoy working with our clients. The quality, integrity and independence of our advice, coupled with our unwavering commitment to client service, sets us apart in a crowded field.

Bitcoin and "Energy Consumption": Are We Asking the Wrong Question? What if the often-referenced question of "how much energy" the Bitcoin network uses is actually less useful to understand how bitcoin interacts with our energy systems? From balancing electrical grids with large interruptible demand loads, to economically bootstrapping new renewable energy generation, to harnessing otherwise-wasted or stranded energy in several parts of Africa, I argue that we should look deeper into related, but fundamentally different, questions: - What kind of energy is the Bitcoin network consuming, especially as it grows? - When, or at what times, are bitcoin miners using that energy within each individual and dynamic energy system? - Bitcoin mining uses energy, but what externalities and second-order effects occur (and are they positive or negative) when it is added to a given energy system and the society it serves? #innovation #energy #technology #sustainability

Thank you CNBC, Frank Holland, and the team at Worldwide Exchange for keeping a spot for me just before Rishi Sunak on a busy news morning. It's always a pleasure speaking with Frank about the economy and markets!! We discussed how the post-election environment in Europe should make for compelling stock selection. Here in the US, continued payroll gains are critical, and early earnings reports from banks provide insight into the consumer. The Fed remains on a “hard pause”, though we expect some clarity on the path ahead to emerge at their Jackson Hole meeting next month. Don’t step away for too long during the dog days of summer – earnings, inflation, job market data, and upcoming Fed-speak are all essential catalysts!!! The video clip is below. Check out our third quarter letter in the comments or on our website to learn more about our views. https://lnkd.in/ec2_EHjJ
