The #SonyPicturesTelevision Diverse Actors Program kicked off with an exciting first week on our Culver City studio lot! Participants learned from #SonyPics executives including Dawn Steinberg (EVP, Worldwide Talent & Casting) and Lauren Stein (EVP, Head of Creative), and will meet with producers and casting directors throughout the program as they film scenes for a final showcase. The Diverse Actors Program was launched in 2021 to increase exposure for talented emerging actors. Initially started as a virtual training program, the sessions consist of acting classes, casting director workshops, executive panels, actor life coaching sessions, and industry masterclasses. Stay tuned for more updates on the work of this creative cohort!

#SonyPics is a proud sponsor of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP), an organization championing and supporting the advancement of Latino excellence across all creative media platforms. NALIP recently celebrated 25 years with its Media Summit, where several of our executives led insightful discussions about the impact of the Latino community in the entertainment industry. Ellene Miles (SVP, Global Intersectional Marketing) participated in the “Marketing Hits and Misses: Lessons from Multicultural Film and TV” workshop, and Michael Bitar (VP, Creative Development, Screen Gems) discussed all things horror on the “Scaring Up Success at the Box Office” panel. Thank you to our leaders for sharing their insights and a huge congratulations to NALIP for 25 years of uplifting Latino voices!
