Providing behavioral health, education, and child welfare services to children, youth, and families in Ohio.

About us

The Buckeye Ranch is a private, nonprofit organization with a comprehensive array of mental health treatment options for children, young adults, and families. The Buckeye Ranch is committed to providing high-quality care utilizing the most up-to-date, scientific knowledge to address the challenges faced by the children, young adults, and families we serve. We actively seek the most current research-based treatment approaches in our relentless commitment to providing the best possible care to children, young adults, and families. The Buckeye Ranch also takes a strengths-based approach with every child, young adult, and family. We believe that these strengths can be accessed to help families reach their full potential because families are fundamental in the lives of children and, therefore, central to the treatment we provide. Our families are struggling to overcome serious issues including abuse, neglect, mental illness, suicidal tendencies, addictions, and other life debilitating concerns. Because of this, The Buckeye Ranch is much more than a place. It’s a comprehensive network of skilled professionals, working as a team to provide children and their families with the treatment, guidance and support they need to raise hope and move on to a better place. The Buckeye Ranch is currently serving more than 2,500 children and families from Franklin and other counties every day, at six (6) different locations throughout Ohio. -

What is Multisystemic Therapy (MST) at The Buckeye Ranch?    MST is one of six programs within our Community-Based Mental Health services program line and is designed to support youth with serious juvenile offenses. The program works with Franklin County Children Services, Franklin County Juvenile Court, and the Franklin County ADAMH board.    MST works to address a youth’s mental health, behavioral, and/or substance abuse issues. Intensive treatment interventions are provided in-home and in-community, working to strengthen the relationship between the child and parent, while decreasing defiant behavior.    MST includes 24-hour crisis intervention to youth and families struggling with the challenges of legal behaviors, substance abuse, oppositional behaviors and severe family conflict.     You can support the work of MST and our other Community-Based Mental Health programs in our mission of restoring hope and providing healing by giving to The Buckeye Ranch today at: bit.ly/TBRInKindDonations

Sarah spent years looking for the right therapist. Struggling to understand her diagnosis, she needed someone that would work with her and make her feel safe. Everything changed when she was connected to The Buckeye Ranch. Thankfully, Sarah got linked with Functional Family Therapy (FFT) and Outpatient (OP) Services therapists at The Buckeye Ranch that finally met her needs. Together, they worked to create a path of hope and healing for Sarah that has brought her so far, “I have progressed enough with my mental health to where I notice the warning signs. I have ways to cope that are safer and much healthier and I can now ask for help when and where it's needed.” The Buckeye Ranch has guided Sarah to be successful outside of treatment by helping her to understand that she is more than just her diagnosis, helping her know her strengths and how to lean into them, and most importantly, by helping her understand that she is never alone. Through her system of support, Sarah has arrived at a place where she can fully celebrate life’s milestones, including graduating high school, getting her driver’s license, and even being accepted to Columbus State Community College to pursue her associate's degree in social work! Today, she is doing well and hopes to become an outpatient therapist herself to help youth who struggle in the same ways she did. We hope that you will take a few moments to read Sarah’s incredible story of hope and healing on our blog at: https://lnkd.in/eyv4DZbX #TheBuckeyeRanchDifference #MentalHealthJourney

Thank you to the #StarbucksFoundation for joining us in beautifying our community to raise hope and provide healing for youth and families! The Buckeye Ranch is proud to be selected for #TheStarbucksFoundation #NeighborhoodGrants from among 33,000 nominations submitted by Starbucks partners (employees) earlier this year. This grant will help continue our work improving the environment for our youth at The Bonner Academy and the surrounding community through our mural project and other upcoming beautification initiatives later this year. What is Integrated Co-Occurring Treatment (ICT)? Thanks for asking!    ICT is a program designed to support youth aged 12-17.5 who are struggling with significant mental health and substance abuse issues. Services are offered in-home, in-school, or in-community where the youth live and function.    Our ICT staff are trained to address the reciprocal interactions of co-occurring substance use and serious emotional disabilities directly. Our therapists have intentionally small caseloads and provide 24/7 on-call support.    To learn more about ICT and our five other Community-Based Mental Health programs, visit: https://lnkd.in/etGtCCrJ

Myth: Foster care is unlikely to affect you.    Truth: There are currently more than 17,000 youth in Ohio’s foster care system right now.  In fact, Ohio is the 5th largest state when it comes to foster youth in care. Currently, Ohio only has about 7,000 licensed foster families to fill this urgent need. This impacts our state’s capacity to improve child welfare systems, and stretches systems thin, inevitably impacting the community that we all live together in. When every youth in foster care is supported and has the resources to realize a bright future, we are a stronger community.     We are calling on members in our community to not just care, but #fostercare! You can create a life changing impact for local youth by becoming a foster parent today.    Learn more about our training options and begin your journey today at: bit.ly/TBRFosterCare
