  • During last night's City Council meeting, the City Secretary's Department introduced our new Deputy City Secretary, Lacy Belcher! Lacy worked as a Court Clerk at the City of League City from 2013 to 2021. In 2021, she joined the City of Nassau Bay as Court Administrator/Deputy City Secretary and was appointed acting City Secretary in December 2023, serving in both roles until June 2024. Welcome to the Webster family, Lacy! 🎉

  • Ending #NationalPublicWorksWeek with some barbecue! 🍖 On Wednesday, the Southeast Branch of the Texas Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) hosted its annual Barbecue Cook-off and Picnic in Alvin, Texas. Twenty-five teams competed in the event, which served over 1,000 Public Works employees from the region. Teams showcased their skills in brisket, ribs, chicken, mystery protein, and desserts. Webster's cook team, Big Dub's BBQ, included Utilities Crew Leader Jeremy Arrowood, Parks Maintenance Crew Leader David Martinez, Senior Fleet Mechanic Dan Zombory, Support Services Foreman Jerry Arredondo, Fleet Mechanic Joseph Dushane, Animal Shelter Technician Allison Layton, Maintenance Operator Walsh Hearn, Building Maintenance Technician Josh Singeltary, and Water Operator Leonard Hernandez. The City brought home the following awards: 🏆 5th in Chicken 🏆 2nd in Corn Hole Way to go, Public Works! 🧡

  • During last night's City Council meeting, Mayor Jasso presented a proclamation recognizing the week of May 19-25, 2024, as National Public Works Week. This proclamation honors the hard work and dedication of our Public Works professionals who keep our City running smoothly every day. Additionally, Police Officer Michael Steen was recognized for his significant achievement in obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Southern New Hampshire University. Officer Steen's commitment to furthering his education while serving our community is truly admirable. Congratulations to everyone who was recognized at last night's meeting! 🎉
