“Malala’s visit to Harrow High School was more than just an event; it was a call to action. It reminded us of the power of education and the importance of fighting for the rights of those who are denied it. We left with a renewed commitment to advocate for educational rights and to stand in solidarity with girls in Afghanistan and around the world.” 15-year-old student Sara documents Malala's visit to her school to speak about the girls' education crisis in Afghanistan and shares her and her classmates takeaways from the day at mala.la/3ycQUKq

Culture is power. It’s everywhere, from the media we consume to the clothes we wear. It has the power to inspire others and make world-changing impact. So why aren’t more changemakers at its center?

The Elevate Prize team is officially OOO next week! Inspired by Malala and Malala Fund, we introduced our inaugural wellness week last year to rest and recharge. Our team carefully selected a week in July to collectively take time to ourselves, and the result was truly magical. Anyone who has experienced burnout understands the toll it takes on your body and mind. And those of us in the nonprofit sector know intimately that it’s impossible to fill the cups of others when you feel depleted on a personal level. My own experience with fatigue and exhaustion eventually pushed me to explore deeper mindfulness practices, something that I’ve found to be extremely transformational and impactful throughout my career.

"Where do Afghan women go to see justice? Where they do they go when they are harmed, when they are put in prisons? The Taliban are not going to give them justice. That’s why codifying gender apartheid and creating a system of accountability is critical." Malala and Sahar Halaimzai, Director of Malala Fund's Afghanistan Initiative, speak to Rukhshana Media on the fight to codify gender apartheid ➡️ mala.la/3WsLDI0
