Trails are an investment in community health—both physical and mental. Perhaps more than any other green space, trails have a remarkable power to connect. They bring us into contact with new landscapes. They bring us in touch with our neighbors and our communities. With support from Altra Running, we’re safeguarding Vermont’s White Rocks Gateway that leads to the Ice Beds, White Rocks National Recreation Area, and the wilderness of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail and the Long Trail. Check out this video, narrated by TPL National Board Member and Altra Ambassador Florence Williams to learn more about how Altra is working with TPL to connect more people to the outdoors. https://bit.ly/3zFtAFy

“In this politically divided climate where people don’t feel listened to when decisions are made, I think Trust for Public Land is squarely in the bull’s-eye of something that I think is really important. And that is the power of convening. It’s the power of listening. It’s the power of making sure that all voices are heard, whether that’s a rancher on the Western Slope of Colorado or in the middle of Nebraska, or it’s a community in the South Side of Chicago that’s really working to make sure that that’s a safe place for kids.” Read more from Dr. Carrie Besnette Hauser, TPL’s incoming CEO and President in The Colorado Sun: https://lnkd.in/eDPkWQEn
