FEMA is allocating $185 million to make dams stronger. The allocations for 32 states and one territory are through the Rehabilitation of High Hazard Potential Dam (HHPD) Grant Program, funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. This funding supports technical, planning, design, and construction for rehabilitation of eligible high-hazard potential dams. Dams age and deteriorate over time while populations near them grow. These grants aim to rehabilitate, remove, or repair these critical infrastructures. Non-federal governments and nonprofits are eligible for assistance. Wrap-up for the 2024 Hawaii on the Hill! A heartfelt thank you to the incredible Chamber of Commerce Hawaii team for orchestrating such a fantastic few days with Hawaii's government, private sector, and non-profit leaders.
