Treehouse Eyes is a pediatric specialty eye care business focused on treating myopia (nearsightedness) in children.
About us
Treehouse Eyes is a pediatric specialty eye care business focused on treating myopia (nearsightedness) in children. Myopia rates in kids are skyrocketing as children spend less time outdoors and more time reading and on devices. Myopia significantly increases the risk of serious eye disease, including retinal disease and glaucoma. Our eye doctors focus on treatment options that can slow or even stop the progression of myopia in children. Our purpose is to give children better vision for life, enabling them to reach their full potential in everything they do. Our specialty centers provide a family friendly experience so children will actually enjoy going to the doctor.

A study from Sweden reveals intriguing insights into myopia in children! With a lower incidence rate than in East Asian countries, Swedish children benefit from a balanced educational system that begins formal schooling at age seven and emphasizes outdoor time. Discover how these factors contribute to healthier vision and the important roles genetics and environment play. Learn more in our latest newsletter! #MyopiaResearch #Optometry #myopiamanagement

Lily has a story to tell... Lily was a 10-year-old child when she came in for a consultation for myopia management a few years ago. She was first prescribed glasses at 5 years of age. Interestingly, neither parent had myopia. At that time, her pediatric ophthalmologist had already diagnosed several retinal holes in each eye, and she had undergone multiple surgeries for retinal repair. She was the only child in the family who wore glasses and had retinal complications, and her family was deeply concerned about her vision. Upon further examination, her refractive status was highly atypical: nearly -16.00 D of myopia and -4.00 D of corneal and refractive astigmatism OU. Her BCVA was 20/60 OU. I also diagnosed her with intermittent exotropia (IXT) and convergence insufficiency (CI). Owing to the concomitant binocular vision dysfunction, it had directly affected her ability to stay focused in school and other daily activities, even when she was compliant with wearing her bulky glasses. After extensive education and discussing all viable treatment modalities for her unique case, I recommended custom soft toric multifocal contact lenses with a peripheral power +4.00D (beyond conventional) for daytime wear. Since then, she has been able to achieve much better vision (20/30-) than with her glasses. The concomitant symptoms associated with IXT and CI also noticeably improved. More remarkably, she has also gained self-confidence and self-esteem - now as a 16-year-old teenager. Recently, she has successfully passed her driving test and ecstatic for GETTING HER LICENSE!! Despite her high myopia, it has remained stable since #therapeutic journey began, as evidenced by miniscule axial length changes over the past 6 consecutive years. An everyday story of #myopiamanagement. Yet not an 'everyday' #impact for each child. Let the impact shine itself. #myopiamanagement #storytelling #lifechanging #orthokeratology #softcontactlenses #axiallength #makeadifference #childrenvisionmatters #possibilities
