WVUP is being awarded a $1.3 million grant to boost the region’s advanced manufacturing workforce training efforts. Two years ago the U.S. Department of Commerce announced it was embarking on what was dubbed the National Travel and Tourism Strategy. As part of that strategy, the Commerce Department set a five-year goal of welcoming 90 million international visitors annually by 2027. The NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration awarded the University of Maryland a five-year, $388 million cooperative funding agreement for collaborative research in Earth system science.
