We are excited to announce that the Trino photovoltaic plant, the largest solar farm in northern Italy, is fully operational. As a key technology partner, Valmont Solar provided Convert-2P trackers that optimize the performance of the 87 MW plant, ensuring maximum energy production, while optimizing the overall performance. 160,000 PV panels now harness the sun’s energy to produce zero-emission, safe electricity on the very same site where cooling towers of a nuclear thermoelectric plant, which closed in 2013, still stand. The plant will generate 130 GWh annually, supplying clean energy to 47,000 households, reducing CO2 emissions by 56,000 tons, and saving 29 million cubic meters of gas each year.
