From my initial days as a nurse practitioner, I realized the negative impact a lack of administrative support can have on a PCP office. It’s hard to provide quality, patient-centric care when there simply aren’t enough bodies or time to do the work, and there’s no budget to hire additional staff. Vatica’s recent independent survey on the challenges preventing a swift transition to value-based care resonated with me. I wasn’t surprised to learn that 84% of PCP managers said they need to add staff to properly transition to VBC—but only 18% plan to hire immediately.
