Founded in 2011 in New York City by French New Yorkers Odile Hainaut and Claire Pijoulat, WantedDesign has evolved into a dynamic connector and amplifier for global design, fostering creative synergy and serving as a pivotal crossroad for the international design community. Following an important transformation for these past years, the multi-generational, women-led company now includes Colombian partner Daniela Giraldo and will continue to build on its foundation of community, education, and curation. Through its diverse array of programs- including residencies, workshops, immersion trips, and a membership program- WantedDesign connects designers at every stage of their career with key players of the industry across the Americas and Europe.

ICFF 2024 was a whirlwind of inspirations for all original and sustainable design lovers. Our client Turf (Architectural and Interior Acoustics) designed the Barcelona Acoustic Wall at the Main Stage, and won the award for the materials & surfaces category by the ICFF Editors Awards! At the Main Stage, Neri&Hu founders lyndon neri and Rossana Ju-shan Hu gave an excellent talk on interdisciplinary designs. In the WantedDesign section, Istituto Europeo di Design students showcased the fluidity of the Gen-Z homes and their relationship with spaces through their designs for Muji. The yellow Coco chairs by OASIQ were seen popping at the Be Original Americas Lounge! And no one could miss the many Italian design inspirations and excellences introduced by the ITA - Italian Trade Agency when walking through the show booths. And so much more... We still can’t get over all the latest designs and products from established and emerging brands worldwide presented at ICFF! The New WantedDesign - A mainstay for emerging talent at the ICFF Since its inception over a decade ago, WantedDesign has been a prominent platform for showcasing exceptional talent among students and emerging designers globally. Established in 2011 by Odile Hainaut and Claire Pijoulat, who are also co-brand directors of the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF), WantedDesign has evolved through various formats, including a standalone exhibition, a multi-day festival, a physical store, and a co-located event within ICFF. In a significant development this year, WantedDesign Manhattan will undergo a transformation. Renamed as Wanted, it will be integrated as a permanent element within the broader ICFF framework. The Schools Showcase, Launch Pad, and Look Book programs, previously central to ICFF, will not only remain within the fair but are set to expand in 2024. Founders Odile Hainaut and Claire Pijoulat shared insights into the evolution of WantedDesign and the forthcoming changes.
