World Energy and The Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) launched the ‘Demand Signal Recognition Book and Claim Pilot' today, which represents a critical step forward in the global effort to decarbonize aviation and promote energy transition solutions for hard-to-abate sectors. The project will enhance the credibility and efficiency of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) contracting and will set new standards for the SAF market driving further innovation and investment. RSB and World Energy, LLC have launched a pioneering pilot project to develop and test a new methodology and verification system to demonstrate bankable demand signals in sustainable aviation fuel (#SAF) transactions. The 𝘋𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘙𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘮 𝘗𝘪𝘭𝘰𝘵 project is expected to enhance the credibility and efficiency of #SAF contracting, and should stimulate further investment and development in the sector. “We are excited to launch the 𝘋𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘙𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘮 𝘗𝘪𝘭𝘰𝘵 in partnership with World Energy, LLC. This innovative project is a significant leap forward in enhancing the credibility of #SAF #supplychains, and will be instrumental to the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors.” – Elena Schmidt, Executive Director, The Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) “This project will help stand up a SAF ecosystem that connects suppliers, customers, independent NGOs and investors. It will also provide proof of additionality and the information banks need to confidently invest in the #SAF industry, which is critical to decarbonising #aviation. We’re excited to partner with RSB on this important project.” – Adam Klauber, Vice President, Sustainability & Digital Supply Chain World Energy, LLC. A new report from Deloitte shows corporate air travel spend by U.S. companies is expected to grow 8% - 12% by the end of 2024, despite higher prices. As travel increases, so does the need to reduce impact from the growing carbon emissions. Building a collaborative value chain that consists of airlines, corporate customers and low-carbon solutions provider is key to shoulder the growing cost of travel while doing so sustainably. World Energy, LLC reposted this
The talk about who will pay the price premium for SAF is so often focused on individual airline customers, but there's another approach to decarbonizing aviation besides raising ticket prices to cover the cost of SAF: insetting. Insets enable companies with significant Scope 3 aviation emissions (i.e. those that ship their people or products around the globe via plane) to decarbonize flights from anywhere to anywhere and they are the key to expanding the SAF market. https://lnkd.in/eyWShdym

What is a feedstock? A feedstock is a source of energy used in the fuel production process. We produce all of our low-carbon fuels, such as SAF, using renewable feedstocks like as waste fats, oils and greases. These feedstocks subsidize, rather than compete, with food production. Our low-carbon fuels are drop-in, meaning they can be used in existing equipment, and they decrease carbon emissions by up to 85%.
