Congratulations again go to the winners of the WPO World Packaging Organisation WorldStar Student 2024 Competition, Akyaa Edna Amo-Duah, Barthelomew Nyarko and Naa Adoley Maxine Allotey-Quist.   The students were recently acknowledged again at their University - Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi- in Ghana, with the presentation of the medals that the team’s project ‘Alpha Biopac’ won in this year’s competition.   The medals were presented to Prof (Mrs) Rita Akosua Dickson, Vice Chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST). These included the Gold Medal for achieving the first place overall in the competition, plus a Gold Medal for achieving the best in the ‘Food’ Category, a Silver Medal for achieving second place for ‘Sustainability’ and a Bronze Medal for placing third in ‘Save Food’.   Kofi Essuman (WPO World Packaging Organisation Vice President for Education) was in attendance at the presentation.   We look forward to receiving many more winning entries into WPO WorldStar Student 2025. WPO World Packaging Organisation WorldStar STUDENT 2024 winners were celebrated at the recent WorldStar Awards Ceremony in Bangkok. Two winning students were in attendance to receive the awards on behalf of their teams. The overall first place Gold Award winners of WPO WorldStar STUDENT 2024 competition were the team from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi in Ghana, for their entry Alpha Biopac. Akyaa Edna Amo-Duah received the medals on stage from Luciana Pellegrino, WPO President, Soha Atallah, WPO Vice President- Marketing and the coordinator of the WorldStar Awards and Kofi Essuman, WPO Vice President – Education. The team from Ghana also achieved the Gold Medal in the Food Category, the Silver Medal for Sustainability and the Bronze Medal for Packaging that Saves Food - a total of 4 medals. The overall third place Bronze Award winners were a team from California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), United States, for their entry Sun Ease. Eva Lee received the medals on behalf of the team on stage. The team also achieved the Gold Medal for the Health & Personal Care Category, and the Bronze Medal for Marketing Appeal, a total of 3 medals awarded. The students enjoyed networking with all the WPO team and the winners in industry at this prestigious global event. Congratulations again to all our winners.
