Those who live with diabetes can face unique mental health challenges. The day-to-day management — blood sugar monitoring, medication administration, meal planning and doctor’s appointments — can be overwhelming. For #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, we’re sharing 6 affirmations for people who live with diabetes. These affirmations can help reset your mindset and shift your perspective toward a more positive outlook. 1. I will not let my diagnosis define me. 2. I'm proud of myself for staying strong. 3. I have the right tools in my diabetes toolkit. 4. I show kindness to myself and others. 5. I feel secure and surrounded by support. 6. I let go of shame and guilt easily. Remember, mental well-being is just as important as physical health. If any of these affirmations resonate with you, tell us why in the comments. #MentalHealthMatters #MentalHealthAwareness #DiabetesCommunity What is GVOKE? GVOKE is a prescription medicine used to treat very low blood sugar (severe hypoglycemia) in people with diabetes ages 2 years and above. It is not known if GVOKE is safe and effective in children under 2 years of age. Do not use GVOKE if: you have a tumor in the gland on top of your kidneys (adrenal gland) called a pheochromocytoma, as it may cause a substantial increase in blood pressure; you have a tumor in your pancreas called an insulinoma, as it may cause low blood sugar; or if you are allergic to glucagon or any inactive ingredient in GVOKE. GVOKE may cause other serious side effects, such as serious skin rash -- in certain people with a tumor in their pancreas called a glucagonoma; Serious allergic reactions -- Call your doctor or get medical help right away if you have a serious allergic reaction including rash, difficulty breathing, low blood pressure.
