It's been awhile since I've posted anything, but today seems like a great day to do so. 10 years ago today, a little non-profit called Male Contraception Initiative (aka Male Contraceptive Initiative) was started by some dedicated folks who wanted to make a difference in the reproductive health space and the world. I will be forever grateful that they did as it has provided me an opportunity to work in a role that has been endlessly fulfilling, often equally challenging, but ultimately my dream job. I am grateful everyday for MCI’s grantees, collaborators, colleagues, fellows, summer students, board members, committee members -- many of whom have served in multiple capacities on that list. You are all truly an inspiration and I have no doubt that your efforts will change the world! As for impact, in 10 years MCI has: - invested $14.3M in non hormonal research and development activities - funded 26 non hormonal reversible male contraceptive targets - supported 77 researchers, fellows and interns - contributed to 2 non hormonal male contraceptive products that are currently being tested in humans!
