What You Will Be Doing
The Preaudit Accountant II analyzes the department’s AP/AR transactions and books accruals/adjustments to ensure an accurate P&L. The Accountant II also oversees audit processes, assists team members, and works with other departments or outside vendors to achieve audit objectives.
The Preaudit Accountant II is responsible for helping to provide training to new and existing associates through the audit process and bouncer (system holds) process. This role requires the ability to prioritize a heavy workload, meet deadlines, and optimize processes within daily, weekly, and period close to enhance efficiency and productivity. The Accountant II must obtain strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects. This position requires a high level of accuracy, PC skills, and verbal and written communication. Ideally, the person in this role will possess a high degree of initiative and maintain a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness.
The position will be based in Phoenix, AZ.
Main Responsibilities
Analyze audit procedures and make recommendations for best practices and efficiency.
Assist with the team’s audit efforts via communication with outside parties, monitoring, and follow-up.
Process manual AP/AR and journal entries as required.
Review team transactions for accuracy and make any corrections in Oracle.
Train and assist associates in specific tasks and use of systems.
Work on special projects assigned by management.
What We Are Searching For
Ability to coordinate and direct workflow within the department.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to resolve difficult issues with external/internal customers.
Good organizational and analytical skills with ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Intermediate to advanced level PC skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office products and databases.
High degree of initiative, accuracy, and adaptability.
Honest and trustworthy, exhibiting the strongest business ethics.
Independent decision maker.
We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:
Four-year business degree required (preferably Accounting).
Two or more years accounting experience in a large organization with mainframe-based accounting.
Good theoretical and practical knowledge of GAAP.
Prior experience with Oracle preferred.
