Aging Care Manager 1 (Local Government) - Cambria County Area Agency on Aging

THE POSITION

The Cambria County Area Agency on Aging is seeking an Aging Care Manager 1 to join our team of professionals. This position f inds itself rewarding by providing services and assistance to older adults who not able to meet their own needs. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

An employee in this class participates in formal and informal training sessions which provide the methods, procedures, rules and regulations that govern the program and the internal operations of the area agency on aging to which the employee is assigned.

The Aging Care Manager 1 is also provided with an increasingly more difficult series of work assignments during their employment in this class. As knowledges and skills are acquired, the difficulty of assignments increase and more latitude in judgment and decision making is permitted. Training and supervision are carried out through individual and group conferences, reading and evaluating records and reports, assignment of professional reading, attendance at training classes, and other training devices.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment.
• Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Three years as an Aging Case Aide 2; or
• A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by twelve (12) credits in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

• Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Cambria County. If no eligible candidates who live within Cambria County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
• Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
