Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Automation Engineer to join our team. As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated systems and processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design automation solutions, and ensure successful implementation and integration.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Automation System Design: Design and develop automation systems, control systems, and robotic solutions to optimize manufacturing or operational processes.
  • Programming and Configuration: Program and configure PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and robotic controllers.
  • Integration of Automation Systems: Integrate automated systems with existing infrastructure, equipment, and software applications; ensure seamless operation and data exchange.
  • Testing and Validation: Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and validation of automation systems to ensure reliability, performance, and compliance with specifications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements; propose and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Create technical documentation, including system specifications, user manuals, and test protocols; provide status reports and updates on automation projects.
  • Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and stakeholders to support automation projects from concept through implementation; provide training and support to end-users.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure automation systems comply with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies; prioritize safety in design and implementation.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, or related field); or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience (X years) as an Automation Engineer, Controls Engineer, or similar role, with a strong background in designing and implementing automated systems.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI/SCADA systems, and industrial robotics (e.g., Fanuc, ABB).
  • Experience with automation protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP), industrial networks, and communication interfaces.
  • Knowledge of automation hardware/software integration and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex automation issues.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
