The ideal candidate has sourcing and/or recruiting experience, as well as proven success in the Talent Acquisition/Staffing industry selling to HR and Talent Acquisition leaders ideally within Private Equity, at Private Equity Portfolio Companies and Mid-Market Companies. They have a history of proven success with building and scaling a business development function and driving revenue growth.
Position Overview
The Business Development Manager will have 3 main priorities:
building and scaling the Business Development function
driving revenue growth
acquiring new logos and closing new business.
They are a strategic sales professional, with a hunter mentality and a history of success in full-cycle sales roles. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to closing new business and everything in between.
Lead Responsibilities
Identify, prioritize, and initiate business development opportunities
Own the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing and everything in between
Collaborate with the team to develop branding, social media, and marketing strategies to help increase brand awareness and drive revenue growth
Act as the main point of contact for potential clients throughout the sales process from initial contact to closing
Develop and nurture client relationships throughout the sales process
Scheduling meetings with potential clients
Conduct in-depth client needs assessments to understand their staffing requirements, identify pain points, and present tailored solutions to address their hiring challenges.
Building a strong pipeline of qualified leads through effective prospecting, outreach, networking, and leveraging social media platforms
Demonstrate a deep understanding of the talent acquisition industry, market trends, and client pain points to effectively communicate our unique value proposition.
Collaborate closely with the internal recruitment team to gather insights on industry-specific talent demands and ensure a quick turnaround to fulfill client requirements.
Regularly update the CRM system with accurate client information, prospecting activities, sales activities, and progress toward hitting targets.
Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets, KPIs, and metrics.
Desired Qualities, Skills, and Experience
Experience sourcing and/or recruiting in a talent acquisition or staffing role
Experience collaborating with HR, People, and Talent Acquisition Managers and Leaders
Experience selling to Human Resources, People, and/or Talent Acquisition Leaders
Experience in a business development role at a staffing agency or recruiting firm
History of success in full-cycle sales roles
Proven success with building and scaling a business development function
Proven history of meeting and exceeding KPIs, sales, and revenue goals
Growth mindset and positive mental attitude
Creative and out-of-the-box thinker who is motivated by challenges
Not afraid to pick up the phone and cold call potential clients
Not afraid to experiment with using creative and potentially out-of-the-box approaches to book meetings with qualified decision-makers and close new business

Passionate about recruiting and talent acquisition
Experience using ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRMs, ATS systems, MixMax, Zoom, Google Workspace, and Calendly
Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, creative problem-solving, research, oral, and written communication skills
Exceptional time management and organizational skills
Able to confidently and skillfully engage with potential clients at all levels of seniority
Preferred but not required experience working with Private Equity portfolio companies, sourcing or recruiting for them
Preferred but not required experience selling to HR and TA leaders at Private Equity portfolio companies
