Description

Manages all commercial aspects of Strategic Sales Accounts as well as developing and closing on new accounts and opportunities in the assigned territory and/or market. The Business Development Manager II establishes and maintains direct contact with the customer base and is required to coordinate the tactical support of customer requirements. This includes the coordination of quotation requests with Marketing and Customer Service, as well as the establishment of forecasts.

The Business Development Manager II is responsible for the identification of new accounts and market opportunities within their territory to foster growth within current and new markets and market segments. This role will be responsible for management of a complex portfolio of existing accounts, new accounts, and high value prospects within their assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and nourish sound working relationships
  • Key accounts - expand relationships that extend throughout the business organization
  • Identify and Develop New Accounts
  • Determine needs of current & new products and relay pertinent information to appropriate contact points in the plants (forecasts, product requirements, quotations, etc)
  • Manage personally or coordinate delivery of responses to above requests with customer
  • Support Marketing in the quotation development process. Negotiate price and terms to close on opportunities at acceptable margins. Follow-up on open quotations
  • Manage any issues related to product quality, payment or credit terms
  • Lead contract/pricing negotiations with support from Marketing and upper Management
  • Act as facilitator for customer visits with appropriate sales/marketing managers and Applications & Technology staff (regular and as required to support opportunities)
  • Remain updated on the client's situation (organization and power map, financials, main projects, recent news, volume vs budget) and react proactively to any change in the client situation


Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree, preferably a Master of Business Administration
  • 6-8 years' experience in a technical industry with a combination of sales/product/marketing/management.
  • Possess high level computer skills especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills.
  • B2B industrial experience Required.
  • Responsible for southern US customers
  • Position based in Hiram, Ohio but is remote and frequently travel 40%
