We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist to join our team. As a CPO, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, fitting, and adjusting prosthetic and orthotic devices to meet the specific needs and requirements of our patients. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing the quality of life and functional independence of individuals with musculoskeletal conditions, limb loss or limb differences. Duties And Responsibilities
Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients to determine their orthopedic or prosthetic needs and functional goals.
Collaborate with the healthcare team, including physicians, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
Select appropriate materials and components for each device based on patient requirements, durability, and functional goals.
Take precise patient measurements or impressions and design a brace, prosthesis, or other supportive devices with attention to physiological function and health.
Fabricate and assemble prosthetic or orthotic components by hand using a variety of techniques such as lamination, vacuum forming or supervising construction by a fabrication technician.
Conduct fitting sessions with patients, ensuring proper alignment, comfort, and functionality of the device.
Evaluate and modify devices as necessary to ensure optimal fit, function, and patient satisfaction.
Provide education and training to patients and their families on the proper use, care, and maintenance of devices.
Document patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in prosthetic and orthotic technology and techniques through continuous professional development and participation in relevant workshops and conferences.
Required Skills And Qualifications
Master's degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics from an accredited institution with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a practicing CPO, preferably in a clinical setting.
Board certification as a Prosthetist/Orthotist from the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics.
In-depth knowledge of prosthetic materials, components, and fabrication techniques.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and orthotic principles.
Proficient in using computer software related technologies such as MS Office, Google Workspace, EMR systems, etc.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
Detail-oriented with excellent manual dexterity and technical skills.
Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing patient needs and requirements.
Commitment to maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
Willingness to collaborate in a team-based environment and contribute to a positive and supportive workplace culture.
