CFO Advisory Sr. Associate

About the Role

The CFO Advisory sr. associate will be a full-time permanent position focused on supporting our clients, private equity backed portfolio companies, with technical transaction accounting matters.

The Senior Associate will review and evaluate deal documents, summarize key terms and details, determine the appropriate accounting for the transaction and work collaboratively with the client to record the appropriate entries to facilitate accurate financial reporting and audit efforts. We are seeking an individual with a background in public accounting, and a strong interest in transaction accounting and private equity M&A deal activity. Candidate must be located in the greater Philadelphia area.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and advisory financial and accounting consulting services to private equity clients and companies.
• Prepare technical accounting schedules and memos, including analysis of purchase agreements, target purchase price calculations and supporting schedules.
• Responsible for engagement execution, including preparing drafts of deliverables and summarizing key financial findings and concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA (or meets the criteria to sit for the CPA exam) and knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• MBA
• A preferred minimum of 2 years of financial audit experience (preferably with a top ten public accounting firm)
• Team player with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced MS Excel skills and strong working knowledge of other MS Office applications
• Strong business acumen and verbal / written communication
• Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to learn and succeed in a fast-paced and unconventional work environment are essential
• Possess an uncommon drive and entrepreneurial spirit

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 3 years of experience in related field
• Must be able to work in a team and remote environment
• Must possess analytical skills
• Proficient use of applicable technology
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing within all levels of an organization, both internally and externally

The annual salary target for this job in this market is $75,000-$90,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
