Christopher Whitney is working exclusively with a high-growth, $15bn AUM, alternatives fund manager headquartered in New York. The firm's strategies include private equity, opportunistic credit, public and private credit.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join the firm's executive team. The COO will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s day-to-day operations, implementing strategic initiatives, and driving operational efficiency to support their growth objectives. This role requires a leader with a proven track record in the investment management industry, particularly within private markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Oversee and manage all operational aspects of the firm, ensuring seamless integration of processes across departments.
• Strategic Planning: Work closely with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute the firm’s strategic plan, focusing on growth and scalability.
• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Risk Management: Ensure robust risk management frameworks are in place to protect the firm’s assets and reputation.
• Client Relations: Maintain and enhance relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, partners, and regulatory bodies.
• Financial Oversight: Work with the CFO to oversee financial performance, budgeting, and reporting.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in the investment management sector
• 3+ years of experience as a COO within a private markets investor
• MBA preferred but not required
