Civil Project Engineer

Description:

The Project Engineer will work with the Project Manager, Field Superintendent, and Project Administrator through the life cycle of a project. The Project Engineer acts as an assistant to the Project Manager to ensure projects are completed on time and under budget.

Duties and required skills include:

• Work closely with project manager(s), superintendents, vendor partners to manage multiple projects and schedules.
• Assists in the setup of new projects and prepares the Pre-Construction meeting.
• Control and manage documents including but not limited to drawings, submittals, schedules, contracts and subcontracts, RFIs, PCOs, etc.
• Track project progress and update schedules.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare PCOs for review by the Project Manager.
• Coordinate material procurement with superintendents and verify material conformance to contract documents.
• Prepare submittals for review by the Project Manager.
• Prepare subcontract scopes for review by the Project Manager.
• Attend and coordinate weekly site meetings.
• Track PCO, RFI, drawing changes, and submittals.
• Assist with monthly payment applications.
• Assist with subcontractor coordination.
• Assist with cost reporting.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of civil construction experience
• Bachelor degree in construction related field
• Experience with Vista Viewpoint, DropBox, BlueBeam, Aconex, ProCore, Primavera P6, HCSS, Microsoft Project and other information exchange systems and the ability to learn new systems is highly desirable.
• Strong work ethic and good communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills with proven ability to prioritize daily tasks in order to meet deadlines, ensure efficient workflow, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Display a detail-oriented approach to daily activities and a self-starter attitude.
