Job Title: Cognos Reporting Analyst

Location: Remote

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications:

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and maintain robust Cognos reports and dashboards to support business decision-making.
  • Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders to create customized BI solutions.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications, including creating complex queries, data models, and reports.
  • Optimize and enhance existing Cognos reports and dashboards for better performance and usability.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all reports and dashboards through regular data validation and cleansing.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on Cognos tools and reports.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Cognos reports, including performance tuning and addressing data discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to align reporting solutions with business objectives.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in Cognos Analytics and BI trends, recommending best practices for continuous improvement.
  • Document reporting processes, data flow, and report specifications for future reference and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Cognos Reporting Analyst or similar role, with a strong portfolio of reports and dashboards.
  • In-depth knowledge of IBM Cognos Analytics, including Framework Manager, Report Studio, and Query Studio.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects on time with high accuracy.
  • Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Certification in IBM Cognos Analytics is preferred
